Caroline is a Florida native, born and raised in Hernando County. Living across from the Brooksville Airport, Caroline spent part of her life on the other side of the gates watching the helicopters and planes take off. While certainly not the first in her family to have dreams of one day becoming a pilot, Caroline is part of the first generation in her family to work on becoming a pilot. As one of Sentinel Service’s student pilots, Caroline can certainly relate to the students as she too works towards her Private Pilot’s License. Caroline holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and has many years of experience leading a team. It is her passion to watch students succeed and progress with their life’s goals while fully cheering them on along the way.
Assistant Chief Flight Instructor
For Mark, aviation became part of his life as a kid. Taking “Intro flights” on birthdays, those 30 minutes of flying were never long enough it seemed. As a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mark used his love of aviation to work on the F/A-18C Hornets and serve his country. After moving to Florida in 2016, he has been at the Brooksville airport connecting with like-minded aviators and learning everything he can. In 2017 he achieved his CFI and began instructing students. While doing that, he gained an opportunity to fly Learjets around the world as an air ambulance Captain reaching over 40 countries in just 2 and a half years. Now, he joins Sentinel Flight School as our Assistant Chief Flight Instructor bringing his experience and passion for aviation to the community of Hernando County.
Born and raised here in Brooksville, Florida, Geoff has always dreamed of being a pilot. As a child, he spent his days building model planes and watching airliners fly above his house. For most of his life, that dream seemed unobtainable, so Geoff decided to pursue a career in law enforcement; a profession he enjoyed. However, his love and passion for aviation never left and in August 2019, he started on his journey of acquiring his pilot’s license. Through the Professional Pilot Program at Pasco-Hernando State College, Geoff attained his Private, Instrument, Commercial and CFI ratings. Geoff strives to help his students master the fundamentals and techniques needed to make their own aviation dreams a reality, whether that be through a career in aviation or just obtaining their private pilot’s license. He truly loves his job and sharing his passion for this amazing industry.
Walter Matthews landed in the Tampa Bay area after completing a twenty-year career in the United States Navy. His journey to make aviation more accessible to students began shortly thereafter. His love for aviation began when I was in elementary school. Similar to many, at that time he didn’t know where to begin.
Not knowing where to begin, he enlisted in the military in his late teens. Eventually the Navy sent him to earn a university degree via a Navy R.O.T.C. scholarship in his early twenties. It’s during his time in the Navy he started on his path towards the world of Aviation.
While beginning his aviation journey in his late twenties, he didn’t receive his certified flight instructor until later in life. He says “I’m at a point in my life where I’m looking to help the next generation see the growing opportunities within the Aviation industry. I want to help them find the industry quicker than I did.I’m also happy to be working in one of the best office’s in the world, an aircraft. You just can’t beat that view everyday!”
When he’s not flying with Sentinel students he can be found dancing Argentine Tango at a local Milonga, or volunteering at his local church.

Since Andres was 7 years old, he has dreamed of becoming a pilot. For Andres, there is something peaceful about being in the sky. Knowing that he would find a way to turn his dreams into a reality, Andres set himself off with a sense of purpose. He began building his knowledge at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois where he achieved a Degree in Aviation Flight Management with a minor in Dispatch. Andres since, has continued to move forward with getting his CFI, CFII, and MEI. Austin first found his love for flight while taking the ride of his life in an Astra. Shortly after the flight he set his goals to pursue a career in aviation, joining Sentinel Services and becoming one of Sentinel Service’s student pilots. Austin has such a passion and romance for flight and loves to share his reasons for falling in love with it. Simply being up in the sky and having any worries of the real world washed away at the push of the throttle motivates him. Austin can often be found managing our hangar in addition to the fuel farm and spending some of his extra time studying with students.
